Breast Biopsy uses a needle to remove a small amount of breast tissue in order to examine it for disease. Biopsies are performed with imaging guidance, either Ultrasound our 3D Breast Tomosynthesis. Real-time image guidance is used to determine the exact location of the tissue to be examined, and to guide the needle during the procedure.
Breast Biopsies are performed on an outpatient basis with minimal preparation. You will be given preparation instructions based on the type of biopsy being performed.
