PROSTATE CANCER MRI CENTER OF EXCELLENCE IN CONNECTICUT

Advanced Radiology is one of the first radiology groups in Connecticut to be named a Prostate Cancer MRI Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Our three Connecticut locations in Fairfield, Stamford, and Orange proudly serve as the destination Centers of Excellence for prostate cancer imaging.

This distinction recognizes Advanced Radiology’s commitment to the detection and diagnosis of prostate cancer.  The Prostate Cancer MRI Center of Excellence distinguishes Advanced Radiology as an MRI provider of safe, effective diagnostic imaging for prostate cancer patients, along with early detection of the disease.

Advanced Radiology’s team of highly trained radiologists and technologists perform over one thousand prostate MRIs each year.  Their dedication and specialized experience ensure the best possible care, as confirmed by the ACR.

“We are very proud to be one of the first radiology practices in the State of Connecticut to be recognized as a leader in prostate imaging.  Our commitment to the patients in our community is key for early detection and treatment of prostate cancer, “said Ian Karol, M.D., Chief Medical Officer of Advanced Radiology.  “We have a subspecialized, dedicated cadre of radiologists who are fellowship-trained in performing and interpreting prostate MRI, and they work closely with all our local urology groups to ensure patient care is optimized at every step along the way of the patient’s journey, from diagnosis to treatment.”

“Being recognized as a Prostate Cancer MRI Center of Excellence validates our highly skilled radiologists and imaging professionals’ dedication to providing the best cancer care to those in need,” said Clark Yoder, Chief Executive Officer. “Our team is proud to offer the best possible care for these patients – not only the ease of scheduling an exam but also providing an accurate and timely diagnosis.”

Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer in American men. It is most prevalent in men over age 65 and common in men 50-64 years old. However, prostate cancer can occur in men younger than 50. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) has facilitated the timely and accurate diagnosis of prostate cancer, and better guides the whole care team on appropriate diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for these patients.
