Community Involvement

The Advanced Radiology team strongly believes in building healthier communities. That means building more than just physical health. It means inspiring greater connection, a spirit of giving, and a feeling of support among our team members and the community at large.

Each year, we engage with charitable causes and participate in events that align with that belief, and do our best to collaborate with the organizations behind those efforts. We know that doing so makes us better healthcare providers, better neighbors, and a stronger team. If you see us at an event, come introduce yourself – we’d love to meet you!

Charitable Events

The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Event

Advanced Radiology provides screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI services to women throughout the tri-state area. For more than two decades, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer has united communities in the fight against this deadly disease, and Advanced Radiology is proud to have supported their efforts each and every year. Today, Making Strides is the largest network of breast cancer events in the nation. Click here to learn more about Making Strides…

The American Heart Association’s Heart Walk

Advanced Radiology supports the American Heart Association and its annual Heart Walk. The Heart Walk is the Association’s premier fundraising event, and draws thousands of walkers to Sherwood Island State Park each year. In addition to the Heart Walk, we provide opportunities for our staff to show their support and win prizes during American Heart Month in February. Click here to learn more about the Heart Walk.

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is the world’s largest peer-to-peer fundraising event dedicated to saving lives from cancer. For over 35 years, communities across the world have come together to honor and remember loved ones and take action for lifesaving change. Funds raised through Relay For Life directly support breakthrough research, 24/7 support for cancer patients, access to lifesaving screenings, and much more. Advanced Radiology joins hundreds of participants and has the opportunity to meet several survivors and their caregivers. Click here to learn more about Relay for Life.

Local Community Events

Advanced Radiology is proud to sponsor local events throughout southwestern Connecticut. From live concerts to fundraising galas to youth sports, we understand that each of us is a part of our community. We don’t just work here, we’re your neighbors.

Fairfield Parks and Recreation Summer Concert Series

Advanced Radiology was pleased to sponsor two of the Sherman Green Summer concerts in 2017. Music from the 5 O’Clocks on June 29, and 60’s Satisfaction on August 3 had hundreds of visitors dancing in the sunshine on the grass. Ted, Mario and Bob were there to meet and greet several local residents who had nothing but positive feedback about Advanced Radiology and its services. We also got to give away beach balls to all the kids (and their parents and grandparents, too). Click here to visit Fairfield Parks and recreation.

Volunteering

Bridgeport Rescue Mission’s Thanksgiving Food Drive

AdRad’s HR team leads our participation in this food drive, which provides Thanksgiving dinner for area families in need. In 2021, we delivered almost 500 pounds of food to the Mission!

Circle of Care’s Art From The Heart Room Makeover Project

Advanced Radiology staff teamed up with Circle of Care to provide 14-year-old Adalia with the room of her dreams. After enduring months of chemotherapy, Adalia wanted her very own “Glam Bedroom.” Our team’s mission was to see that she got it! Along with her mother Crystal, and her 9-year-old sister Sanaii, we planned and built Adalia’s dream room. If you would have a special skill or craft, if can just wield a paint brush, or would simply like to help a child with cancer live in their own dream room, visit Circle of Care / Art from the Heart.

The Dr. Michael Meszaros Memorial Bowling Tournament

Dr. Michael Meszaros was a colleague, a dear friend, and a man who loved to bowl. His sudden passing in 2016 inspired the creation of the Dr. Michael Meszaros Memorial Bowling Tournament. Each year, we square off in teams with funny names, proudly wearing our colorful team shirts. Team naming has become an art, unlike the bowling skills of most of us. Trophies are awarded for the highest and lowest scores (competition is fierce for the latter). Most importantly, it gives Advanced Radiology staff from across all our sites an opportunity to come together to enjoy each other’s company and remember our friend Dr. Meszaros.

Team AdRad

2017 was the inaugural year of Team AdRad – our way of participating in fun events that support health-related causes in each of our communities. Advanced Radiology doctors, technologists, managers, and staff ran and walked together through Fairfield, Orange, Shelton, Stamford, Stratford, Trumbull, and Wilton in support of first responders, families of children with cancer, special needs kids, and several other charitable groups. We’re proud to help our neighbors continue to build healthy communities, and we have a lot of fun doing it! Many thanks to the organizations that sponsor these events, and thank you to everyone who participates with us.
