Is a CT Lung Cancer Screening Right For You?
Under the guidelines released by the American Lung Association, low-dose CT lung screening is recommended for:
- Current smokers (aged 55 to 77 years)
- Former smokers who have quit within the past 15 years and have a history of at least 30 pack-years—an average of a pack a day for 30 years—and with no history of lung cancer
Be sure to discuss your lung cancer risk with your primary care physician to determine if low-dose lung cancer screening is appropriate for you.
