Advanced Radiology is closely monitoring and quickly responding to developments of the COVID-19 virus outbreak. Our first priority, as always, is protecting the safety and health of our patients, our staff, and our community.
We continue to follow recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Our clinical sites maintain strict infection control procedures, and our staff is following the most up-to-date CDC protocol in gathering individual patient history regarding possible exposure to the virus, and preventing its spread.
We are confident that we are prepared to help limit the spread of the virus in every aspect of our operation, from telephone scheduling to clinical sites. Each day we review our procedures and make appropriate adjustments to respond to new developments.
For the safety of our patients, our staff, and our community, the following policies are currently in effect at all Advanced Radiology locations:
- Effective immediately, we will no longer be accepting walk-in patients, including x-rays. Until further notice, all patients will need an appointment, which can be scheduled by calling 203-337-9729. If a patient is experiencing fever, cough, shortness of breath or has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for the COVID-19, they must notify outpatient representatives immediately.
- Pre-screening of all patients, by phone, during the scheduling process
- Pre-screening of all patients and accompanying representatives at all clinical sites
- Multiple daily cleaning and disinfecting of all sites, including waiting rooms, administration areas, exam spaces, and all equipment
- Modified exam schedules and physical site changes to prevent unnecessary close contact
I encourage everyone to take these simple preventive steps to protect themselves and their community:
- Maintain a safe distance between yourself and other people. This is especially important for older adults and people who have serious chronic medical conditions.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- If think you may have symptoms of the virus, contact your doctor by phone first. DO NOT go directly to your doctor’s office, urgent care center, or hospital emergency department.
- Stay informed and up-to-date. For the latest information on COVID-19 in Connecticut, please visit the State of Connecticut website. Additional information is available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
I want to assure our patients, referring doctors, and staff that we will continue to provide the safest and highest-quality care possible throughout the outbreak.
Thank you all for your patience and cooperation as we calmly and deliberately work through this situation.
